Dr. Imler Smith (Dr. IS for short!) has been part of the Bees Ferry family since 2013.
She graduated cum laude from the College of Charleston in 2013 with a major in Biology and a minor in German. Two weeks after graduation, she applied to BFVH as a veterinary assistant. She worked as an assistant, veterinary nurse, dispensary nurse and surgical nurse for several years. After graduating from the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!) in 2020, she returned home. This time, with a new title - doctor.
Dr. Imler Smith is passionate about preventative care, dermatology and internal medicine. She also holds a special place in her heart for rescue animals. One of her previous BFVH rescues (Poppy) now resides with her parents. Dr. Imler Smith strives to educate owners, connect with families and bond with her patients.
While not working, Dr. Imler Smith loves any water activity and reading. She shares her home with her husband Shane, son Sully and rescue dogs Winston and Ruby. You may catch Winston following her around the office!
